The Sandcastle enjoys a great sea front position overlooking Lowestoft’s Award Winning Beach. It’s a gracious Victorian house, built in 1847 by Sir Morton Peto, who brought the railway to the town. The Guest House opened in 1997 and has a happy feel about it and bright, light and airy rooms with each room individually decorated and furnished. Tony and Susie Gittins are the owners and they have brought to the business a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry including several winters of running ski chalets in the French Alps. The easy going, informal atmosphere of the ski slopes has almost been recreated here replacing snow and ice with sea and sand.
